Sad day

My first father-in-law died in the early hours of this morning. We knew it was coming because he has been very frail for quite some time, then last week he suffered a couple of strokes. Somehow though, no matter how much you are expecting it, when it actually happens it's still a huge shock.
I married his son when I was 18 and we went on to have three wonderful children together, but when the eldest was only 11, my husband died.
I remarried many years later, but we always stayed quite close. So much so, that Tim and I invited him and my two sisters-in-law to our wedding. That's why I call him my 'First' father-in-law, not my 'Ex' father-in-law.
My girls have taken it very hard. It's only 3 months since my own mum died, so they've lost their last remaining grandparents within a very short space of time.

With all this going on, I haven't been able to take my time over today's photo prompt, which is 'Fall'. I'm not happy with it, but here it is anyway ......

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss and hope that your children can look for the good memories they have. My girls lost their grandad this year and it's so difficult to explain to them but with them having already lost their father i bet it brings back a lot of feelings of grief. My thoughts are with you and your family. X

I'm sorry your father in law died. My uncles fiancee just died too and I didn't even get to meet her yet because they live in America.
I love your photo and the SOS photo is really cool.

So sorry to hear about Granda George, Brenda. He is in a better place now with his beloved Graham and and also Craig. Remember that night that you, me and George all got a terrible fit of the giggles whilst watching Johnny Mathis on Top of the Pops! We were all in stitches!!! Just remember the fun times.

Lots of love, Irene. XXX

I'm so sorry for your loss. I agree with you that no matter how "prepared" you are for someone's passing, it's still a shock and it leaves quite a sad place in your heart. I wish all of you peace.

Oh Bobs, you have had such sadnesses to deal with haven't you?
And yet you always find something positive to say. You are such a strong person, such a delight to your friends, and your family's rock. A rare gem that's what you are. No wonder Tim snaffled you up, he knew one when he found it. (well he would wouldn't he ;) )
All love to you
