A new award!

A huge 'Thank you' goes to Ruth today for my new award:

Thank you for thinking about me, sweetie - I'm chuffed to bits!

The rules for this award are:
1. The winner can put the logo on his/her blog.
2. Link the person you received your award from.
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
4. Put links of those blogs on yours.
5. Leave a message on the blogs of the boys/girls you've nominated

So now, I nominate:

Please help yourselves to the award folks!

I thought I might be able to get some photographs of the Cthulhu LARP game we played at our house on Saturday, but I've run out of time, I'm afraid.

I have however, managed to get an SOS for yesterday. Taken at New Aberdour beach just along the coast from where I live. It's a teeny little rock pool (more of a puddle, really!), full of teeny tiny pebbles that were all wet and shining in the (admittedly weak) sunshine!

Sorry it's a bit of a cheat again, but I take any excuse to show off my family! This is my younger daughter Jodie on the day of her graduation in 2007. She achieved an MA (Hons) 1st Class, in Religious Studies.

Definitely educated! :)

More later perhaps.

Ripe - or Unripe

Mine is definitely unripe. One of the new batch of holly berries on our ancient tree, slowly ripening as the weeks go on.

Here's a pretty little buttercup that I snapped in the garden at the weekend.

Short post from me today, because I'm weary as weary can be.

Bye for now xxxxx

Win some stamps!

Name the characters at Spiral Whisper and win some blog candy! :)

Fringe Benefits

I'm afraid I'm using a phone piccy that I also put on here a couple of days ago. So yes, I'm a cheat! lol I've had a fringe almost all of my life - apart from a few years in the 70's when I had long hair in a middle seam.

It used to be very dark brown, but now it's grey.

Some would say white.

At least, my daughter Kerry does. She loves it!

Oh, before I forget, in reply to Rach, who asked which lens I used to take the photographs of the beasties yesterday ...... it's the bog-standard Canon 15-22mm kit lens, using manual focus. Sometimes, it surprises me how versatile that little lens can be!

SOS beasties!

Seems like such a long time since I played properly at HS:MS

So here is my SOS for today, Sunday 22nd June, 2008. Up here in the NE corner of Scotland, we call any sort of insect a 'beastie' and here are a couple of the little blighters! I actually took them yesterday, when it was a gloriously sunny morning. Unlike today, which is cold windy and wet. More like February weather than June.

I'm getting a bit frustrated because I just cannot seem to get the focus on the eyes!!!

Never mind, I still like them anyway!

There are another couple of shots over on my photo blog (Snap-Happy Bobs) - link on the right there. I always forget I've got that blog and so there aren't very many shots on it! lol

Why is it ......

...... that during the day at work, all I can think about is getting home to do some scrapping or cardmaking, or minibook making or any other kind of papercrafting ...... but as soon as I've got home, washed and changed and eaten, I've lost the creative urge?

Either that, or I sit down at my craft desk and find myself confronted with beautiful papers, embellies etc etc and I don't have a clue where to start.

I tell ya - it's frustrating beyond frustrating-ness!

What's also frustrating is that I managed to make my new Circle Journal .... covers, pages, sign-in tags and pages - and I can't put the pics on here because some of the lovely peeps from the forum come on here to have read and they'd see it! lol

I've also done all of my ATC's for the crafty weekend swap, but once again, the above applies!

So anyway, I haven't taken any decent shots with my DSLR for ages, so here are a random few taken on my phone, so please excuse the bad quality ....

Me,looking after Aaliyah and Saffron while Kerry and Simon took Cameron and Kali to Scout camp last Friday:

A wee tub of yummy berries, grapes and tangerines that I take to work every day, to have at lunch time, after my cup of Slim-a-Soup. How good do they look? :)

Finally, a cute lil BluTac Loch Ness Monster that I made during a lunch time a few weeks ago. Sadly, he is no longer with us and has reverted to being a plain old lump of BluTac instead!

Toodle-pip! xxx

That's the word today on HS:MS.

No photo from me yet, but I just can't resist these lyrics from 'Creep' by Radiohead:

When you were here before,
Couldn't look you in the eye
You're just like an angel,
Your skin makes me cry

You float like a feather
In a beautiful world
I wish I was special
You're so very special

But I'm a creep,
I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doin' here?
I don't belong here

I don't care if it hurts,
I wanna have control
I want a perfect body
I want a perfect soul

I want you to notice
when I'm not around
You're so very special
I wish I was special

But I'm a creep
I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doin' here?
I don't belong here, ohhhh, ohhhh

She's running out the door
She's running out
She run run run run...

Whatever makes you happy
Whatever you want
You're so very special
I wish I was special

But I'm a creep,
I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doin' here?
I don't belong here

I don't belong here...

Haven't we all felt like this at some point in our lives?
