A Room with a View

My lounge is a really awkward long rectangle shape, with patio doors at the end of one of the long walls. There is a really lovely view from those doors, over the garden and beyond and up till now, this view has been somewhat wasted. I have always wanted a little bistro table and chair in that corner, so I can have my tea in the morning, looking out over my garden.

I can't afford a proper circular table, but I found a rather unsteady square, roll-up garden table, which will do for now. I sewed a crisp tablecloth from some white sheeting along with a table topper sewed from a remnant of purple fabric.

So now, I can sit like Lady Muck, with my cup of tea and posh pinkie, looking out over all I survey! Or rather, with my 'Nightmare Before Christmas' oversized mug and my laptop!

I will get my dream circular table one day, though!

I only wanted what was best for you
I only wanted to be there with the love you need
I was the one who always loved you true
So, why did you have to lie
Why did I have to cry
Why did you say those things if you did not mean anything
Why did you have to go and turn my world so cold
And take away that heaven that I used to hold

You didn't have to hurt me, hurt me
You didn't have to make me, make me cry
You didn't have to break my, break my
Heart in a thousand pieces
Why oh why, why oh why
Oh why, oh why, oh why, oh why, oh why, why, why

I was the one who always stood by you
I was the one who always gave so unselfishly
There was not one thing that I would not do
How, how could you be so cruel
How could I be so fooled
How could you take my trust and turn that trust right into dust
How could you say you care
Then leave me standing there so cold and all alone
You know it's just not fair

Why, did you treat me so bad
When I gave you all I had in my heart
Oh why, did you take my love and throw my love away
Gave my world, gave my soul
Gave you everything, you didn't have to hurt me

Oh why, oh why,oh why, oh why, oh why, why
You didn't have to hurt me
Oh why, oh why,oh why, oh why, oh why
Why, why, why, Oh why, oh why, oh why

Sorry, but .....

..... I've had to put Word Verification on my comments again. I'm being overrun with spam comments and even with enabling moderation, it hasn't stopped.

I know how annoying the Word Verification can be when you want to leave a comment so please bear with me and hopefully, I won't have to keep it on for too long.

Thank you. :-)

Aden Country Park

Aden Country Park is around 12 miles from where I live and it is gorgeous in any season. Kerry and I went there this afternoon for a walk in the snow and I took my camera in the hopes of capturing some of the beauty to be found there.

We saw a small water outlet/drain/waterfall and found these amazing ice formations beside it.
Alien shapes of both clear and white ice:

An arch of solid ice, backlit by natural sunlight:

Amazing icicle formations!

Nature is simply breathtaking.

My favourite flower of them all.

My girls knew this when they bought me these.

Snow, snow, snow ......

It may be beautiful, but I'm fed up with the white stuff now.

New Beginnings

The word today on Our Space, is 'Bud' and here are a couple of them, in my garden this afternoon.

Buds represent new beginnings, rebirth and hope.

My life has come to a new beginning - a rebirth.

Do I have hope?

Not yet, but perhaps that will come ..... in time.

Birthdays and Eggs

My eldest granddaughter, Kali, was 10 years old today. It's so very hard to believe that a whole decade has passed since she was born, a very bonny 9lb 2oz!

Happy birthday, my sweetheart! xxx

Her grandad loves her - and she loves him right back!

Past the age of dolls now, one of her gifts was a nail jewellery kit.

Saffron wanted to show me her toy cat. It's little pink tongue pokes out when you press its head!

Beautiful Aaliyah.

On to the egg .........
Kerry gets her eggs from a girl she knows from the gym. This girl has her own hens and the eggs are wonderful. Anyway, Kerry was a bit 'down' yesterday and was missing Simon. She picked up an egg to cook and was amazed to see this on it ........

.... a little knobble on the shell in the shape of a perfect heart!

Nature is wonderful and delivered this heart at just the right time, when Kerry needed a little love!
