We were asked to come dressed as comic book characters, so here am I as Beryl the Peril from the Scottish comic 'The Topper'.
My sister came as Dennis the Menace from 'The Beano'!
Ming the Merciless and Clark Kent had an altercation during a board game!
Our host, Count Doom, made sure dead friends were with us too! :-)
Group pic .......
Clark Kent, Batman, Harely Quinn, Count Doom, Beryl the Peril .... and in front, Ash and Dennis the Menace!
Great fun was had by all - and we all survived to play again another day! :-)

Watching some of the fireworks ....
After most of the fire burnt down, we all sat around it, chatting and toasting marshmallows, until well after 11.00pm.
We finished up just in time, because just as everyone was leaving, it started to drizzle.

She is absolutely fabulous and I love her to bits!
Thank you so much, Tim!
Here is a selection of pics from the evening!
Of course, we ended up in the pub, as normal!
Hopefully next year, Jodie will be back to fighting fitness!! :-)
Here is all the team, at the end of the long, but satisfying, day - me, Jodie, Grahame (photographer), Peter (hair sytlist) and Andrew (Peter's assistant).

I also lit a candle for Craig.
Francis Crick was a molecular biologist, biophysicist, and neuroscientist from Northampton, and most noted for being a co-discoverer of the double-helix structure of the DNA molecule in 1953. This beautiful sculpture commemorates this.
Close-up. I really love this!
The old disused lift-testing tower, affectionately knows as the Northampton Lighthouse. It's very, very tall and one of my favourite buildings there. It's now listed, so can't be demolished! Good. :-)
Walking in the July sunshine.
It seems to have rained for almost the whole summer here in the UK and Northampton's River Nene was very swollen.
Looking out from the Guildhall.
So back in July, Tim invited me to go with him to Northampton to visit his family - and also have one day in London.
First stop in London just has to be the British Museum.
I could sit and look at this roof - and also people-watch - all day!
These tiny figures in the Egyptian department, amaze me every time I see them.
He always makes me sad.
We went to Covent Garden, but unfortunately on a day when it was clothes being sold, rather than interesting knick-knacks etc.
After a quick trip to Leicester Square and Picadilly Circus, we headed off to Buckingham Palace and took the obilgatory tourist pics .....
...... before going to the Queen's Gallery to see the 'Leonardo - Anatomist' exhibition.
It was quite breathtaking to be looking at his actual drawings and texts. Not copies - but the real thing! Amazing!
From outside Buckingham Palace, we could see the London Eye and the newly-completed Shard.
From there, we made our way to Greenwich to see the beautiful Cutty Sark.
Me, standing directly underneath the keel!
Next it was off to Trafalgar Square .....
.... where Tim took my picture beside the Olympic Countdown Clock!
We also walked the entire length of Oxford Street, then down the side of Hyde Park, before it was time to catch the train back to Northampton. More of which later!
I absolutely LOVE visiting London! :-)
