Pictures at an Exhibition

I have now finished blankie number 6! They are identical, apart from the colours obviously ..... but I have made the edgings all different.

This one is for Aaliyah and I gave it to her a couple of days ago. The colour is all wrong in this pic - in real life, it's a lovely rich burgundy colour.

It was Saffron's 9th birthday on the 17th May. Can't believe she's 9! She wanted to have an old-fashioned tea party for her friends, complete with china cups & saucers and cake stands. Everybody had to wear a hat too. :-)

Finally, FINALLY, the Maris Pipers have begun to show signs of life - hooray! One or two of the Roosters are showing through as well, so I'm well chuffed!

Yesterday afternoon, I got the 2nd raised bed all planted up. I planted peas, spring onions, carrots, beetroot, rocket, lettuce, swede and courgettes. I'm not holding out much hope for the courgettes, but you never know till you try!

Jodie and I attended an exhibition of photographs by the amazing Jules MacDonald, owner of JM Style Photography. Jules has used two of her photographs of Jodie in the exhibition and naturally, Jodie and I were thrilled to see them!

I am excited to be assisting Jules at a few weddings in the coming months!

A Pot Pourri

No theme today - just some pics from the past few days. Starting with .......

...... Asha at nine weeks old. She's just so beautiful!!

I accompanied Jodie to a shoot at the weekend and took a few sneaky shots with my iPhone! I LOVE her new, brightened hair!

A tiny white feather on the beach.

When Jodie met Robert! Taken in Tescos!! lol

I found this beauty in a charity shop and was sooooo tempted to buy her, but I had no way of getting her home, plus I was a bit scared to ask the price! She was lovely though. :-)

The Wasten (west shore) of Fraserburgh. Note the painted Saltire on the right - and the barely-visible lion rampant on the left.

It was so chilly today that I really didn't want to go out, but I used the last of my eggs this morning and if I wanted any breakfast tomorrow, I had no choice but to get myself to the farm shop.
And here they are ...... or, as one of my followers on Instagram said "or a load of bald heads!" lolol

Happy Birthday!

34 tears ago today, my first daughter Kerry was born and on a walk along the glorious Broch beach this morning, I collected 34 shells to photograph. One for each year I have been blessed by her life.

This is the biggest of the dunes on Fraserburgh Beach, reflected in the wet sand. For some reason, it seems to be called Tiger Hill nowadays, but when I was a child, it was known as the Lion's Head.
In a moment of madness, I decided to climb to the top - something I haven't done for many, many years. I forgot quite how steep it was toward the top, but I took my time and I got there in the end, but thought I was going to die in the process!!!

On the way back down, I took this shot of the harbour and the end of the breakwater, through the dunes.

Three of Loki's four kittens have now gone to their new homes - and Asha is the one Kerry, Simon and the kids have kept.

It's such hard work being this adorable!

A little street market appeared in the car park at Saltoun Square in the Broch yesterday! It wasn't advertised, so not many people knew about it, which was a real pity. Although there weren't many stalls, there was loads of variety!

None of my tatties have appeared in my raised beds yet, but the onions are definitely sprouting! :-)

These ominous storm clouds are rolling towards me over Mormond Hill just now! I have washing on the line, so I hope it doesn't rain till it's all dry!!

This is my first blogger entry using the now-compulsory Google Chrome - and I have to say I'm less than impressed. Maybe I'll get used to it eventually, but I suppose I don't have a choice really.
